Chung Yeung cemetery transport: special buses and minibuses
Updated 17 Oct 2026. Chung Yeung Festival is Sun 18 Oct 2026, and Mon 19 Oct is the public holiday. Special services also run on the weekends of 24–25 Oct and 31 Oct–1 Nov.
Quick answer
- Aberdeen and Chinese Christian Cemetery (Pok Fu Lam): Citybus 347 from Admiralty Station (West) Bus Terminus, 17–19 Oct, 8am–4pm. On 24, 25, 31 Oct and 1 Nov there are special 347 departures to the Chinese Christian Cemetery from 9am to noon, with returns 9:45am–3:15pm. From Kowloon, cross-harbour 971R runs Mong Kok ↔ Cyberport on 17–19 Oct.
- Chai Wan / Cape Collinson: green minibuses 16A, 16M, 16X from MTR Chai Wan Station. These are the only minibuses allowed through on Sun 18 Oct. Citybus special 388 runs from Chai Wan Station Bus Terminus and 389 from Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus (8am–6pm on 18 Oct).
- Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery: on Sun 18 Oct, take the MTR to Tiu Keng Leng and walk in via the BMCPC Footpath opposite the station. The road is fully closed and KMB 14S does not run that day. On 17, 19, 24, 25 Oct and 1 Nov, 14S runs from Yau Tong (Lei Yue Mun Rd eastbound), 7:30am–5:25pm.
Aberdeen and Pok Fu Lam
Citybus 347 is a circular from Admiralty Station (West) Bus Terminus to the Chinese Christian Cemetery and Aberdeen. It runs 8am–4pm on 17, 18 and 19 Oct, with extra buses added when queues build. On 24, 25, 31 Oct and 1 Nov only special departures run: Admiralty → Chinese Christian Cemetery 9am–12 noon, and back 9:45am–3:15pm. Cross-harbour 971R (Mong Kok ↔ Cyberport) runs 9:40am–4:30pm on 17–19 Oct, with special departures from Shanghai St near Bute St, Mong Kok, 9:00–10:15am. Citybus 33X gets extra stops outside the HKCCCU Pok Fu Lam Road Cemetery on festival days. Police may close Peel Rise to all vehicles (7:30am–6:30pm on 18 Oct), so don't plan on a taxi to the gate.
Plan your trip to Aberdeen Chinese Permanent Cemetery from where you are. Our planner doesn't show the festival-only 347 yet, so it suggests MTR to Wong Chuk Hang plus minibus.
Chai Wan / Cape Collinson
From MTR Chai Wan Station, take green minibus 16A, 16M or 16X up Cape Collinson Rd. Lin Shing Rd and Cape Collinson Rd are closed 7am–5pm. On Sun 18 Oct only franchised buses, minibuses 16A/16M/16X, hearses and permit holders get through. Taxis can't, and minibus 18M is suspended. On the other closure days (17, 19, 24, 25, 31 Oct, 1 Nov) taxis and 18M can get through too. Citybus special 388 loops from Chai Wan Station Bus Terminus (18 Oct 8am–6pm; 17, 19, 24, 25 Oct 9am–4pm; 31 Oct and 1 Nov 10am–2pm). 389 loops from Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus (18 Oct 8am–6pm; 17, 19, 24, 25 Oct 9am–4pm). For the Cape Collinson-San Ha Columbarium, use the escalators from San Ha St near Exit A.

Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery
Sun 18 Oct: the access road from Ko Chiu Rd is fully closed (5:30am–8pm), and there's no 14S. Take the MTR to Tiu Keng Leng and use the BMCPC Footpath opposite the station. It has stairs, so wheelchair users should use the access road on Ko Chiu Rd. Other days (17, 19, 24, 25 Oct, 1 Nov; also 8 Nov): KMB special 14S runs 7:30am–5:25pm from Yau Tong. Board on Lei Yue Mun Rd eastbound, opposite Evangelize China Fellowship Holy Word School. Taxis and minibuses drop off at temporary points such as Ko Chiu Rd eastbound near Ko Yee Estate.

Other cemeteries with road changes
- Po Fook Memorial Hall / Fu Shan (Tai Wai): Lower Shing Mun Rd is closed 7am–6pm on festival days, except to minibus 64K.
- St Raphael's Catholic Cemetery (Cheung Sha Wan): no parking. The minibus 42 terminus moves to outside 550 Castle Peak Rd, and 45M is diverted.
Tips
- Go early. TD asks grave sweepers to avoid 12 noon–2pm. Special buses mostly finish by 4pm (6pm for 388/389 on the 18th), so plan your return before then.
- Mon 19 Oct and the next two weekends are quieter than Sunday, and the same special buses run on most of those days.
- Use Octopus and expect queues at Admiralty (West), Chai Wan and Shau Kei Wan.
- Don't drive. Parking is suspended near most cemeteries, and illegally parked cars may be towed.
- Check cemetery opening hours with the Chinese Permanent Cemeteries board (bmcpc.org.hk) or FEHD. For live updates use HKeMobility or call 1823.
- Ching Ming: similar cemetery arrangements return each spring, and we update this page then.
